The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, has confirmed that Spain will extend an invitation to Delcy Rodríguez to attend the next Ibero-American Summit of 2026 in Madrid, scheduled for November 4 and 5 in the Spanish capital.

Albares has defended the decision, assuring that "those who have international representation are always invited", underlining that the criterion applied by the Executive will be the same as in previous editions of the Ibero-American forum.

Invitation to all countries with official representation

The head of Foreign Affairs has insisted that the invitation process is being carried out broadly and in accordance with usual diplomatic practice. In this regard, he has stressed that the meeting "will not be different from other summits," in reference to the participation of all States with international recognition and representation.
