The Prosecutor's Office of Colombia presented charges this Tuesday against the leader of the FARC dissidents Alexander Díaz Mendoza, alias "Calarca", to whom it attributes crimes of homicide, disappearance and forced displacement, as well as recruitment of minors, among other acts committed between 2022 and 2026.
The accusation was formalized in a hearing after a judge of control of guarantees authorized that "Calarcá" be prosecuted as an absent person, due to his repeated absences throughout the judicial procedure.
According to the delegate against organized crime of the Prosecutor's Office, Raúl González, Díaz Mendoza is held responsible for conspiracy to commit a crime, aggravated homicide of a protected person, aggravated homicide, trafficking and possession of weapons exclusive to the Military Forces and recruitment of minors.
Specifically, he is accused of the murder of six signatories of the Peace Agreements, including one of the negotiators, as well as for the forced displacement of several families in the department of Meta.
The investigations also link him to three massacres in the department of Guaviare: one that occurred in January 2026, with a toll of 25 fatalities; another in April 2025, in which seven soldiers died; and a third in January of that same year, in which 20 people died, including seven minors.
"There are also elements of evidence that indicate the recruitment of young minors to these organizations (...) the forced displacement and an event of forced disappearance (...) and some images of acts of torture," González has stated.
The General Staff of the Blocks and Fronts (EMBF) is made up of three structures, including the Jorge Briceño block, led by "Calarcá", considered the main leader of these dissidents, a split from the Central General Staff (EMC) of the FARC, led by Néstor Vera Fernández, alias "Iván Mordisco".
