If there was still any doubt about the rent decree-law, the PNV made it clearer that it will be repealed. The ‘jeltzale’ party announced this Tuesday its abstention because it does not share the substance or the form of the rule approved by the Government of PSOE and Sumar.

Its parliamentary spokesperson, Maribel Vaquero, rejected in a press conference the lack of prior debate on the decree-law, considering that this instrument is not the most suitable for addressing this crisis.

For Vaquero, the automatic renewal of contracts and the caps on price increases represent a "sign of the failure of the Housing Law". "It contradicts it and reveals its failure," he assured, as it applies caps from the State that the communities correspond to approve in the legislation.
