The Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, has conveyed this Tuesday his congratulations to the new head of British diplomacy, Ed Miliband, emphasizing that both will work together to "promote shared prosperity."
Miliband, who was leader of the Labour Party between 2010 and 2015 and until now held the Energy portfolio, was appointed this Monday as Foreign Minister in place of Yvette Cooper, after the new Labour leader, Andy Burnham, took over as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
Albares has expressed his congratulations for the new position a day after the announcement. "We will cooperate to continue advancing a political, economic, and security agenda that promotes shared prosperity for our citizens, Europe, and the world," the Spanish Foreign Minister pointed out to the new head of British diplomacy in a message published on 'X' and reported by Europa Press.
