The Senate's investigation committee on the management of the State Society of Industrial Participations (SEPI) will hold this Wednesday the intervention of Jesús Ángel Carbajo, Plus Ultra's accounts auditor, just 24 hours after the indictment of former Government president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero in the 'Plus Ultra case' became known.
Thanks to their absolute majority, the 'populars' promoted this investigation committee in the Upper House with the aim of clarifying possible political responsibilities in the 'Plus Ultra case', for which they have been summoning different technical profiles.
In this session, the PP has opted to request the presence of Jesús Ángel Carbajo, accounts auditor of 'Audicar S.L.', the firm responsible for reviewing and auditing Plus Ultra's accounts.
Carbajo's summons occurs immediately after the National Court magistrate José Luis Calama decided to investigate Zapatero in the 'Plus Ultra case' for an alleged crime of influence peddling.
After Zapatero's indictment became known, the Popular Group in the Senate issued a statement in which it claims to have been "ahead of events" after the former Government president stated in the 'Koldo committee' of the Upper House that he did not collect commissions from Plus Ultra.
"We didn't think the same then, most Spaniards didn't either, and today the judges don't either," the PP proclaimed after Zapatero's indictment.
