The third vice-president and minister for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Sara Aagesen, and the deputy operational director (DAO) of the Civil Guard, Manuel Llamas, recently indicted, are called to appear this week in the Senate's investigative commissions on the State Industrial Holdings Company (SEPI) and the so-called "Koldo case".
These appearances, promoted by the PP in the Upper House, are part of the 'popular' strategy to keep the parliamentary inquiries they are promoting in the Senate, where they have an absolute majority, open, with the aim of clarifying the alleged political responsibilities linked to various business rescues authorized by SEPI and to the so-called Leire Díez scheme.
In this context, the investigative commission on SEPI's management has summoned the third vice-president to appear this Wednesday, July 8, at 11:00 AM. The PP wants to focus the interrogation on the rescue of the company Tubos Reunidos.
This was detailed by the PP spokesperson in the Senate, Alicia García, at a press conference in the Upper House, where she announced that her group will emphasize Aagesen's actions, who at that time held the position of Secretary of State for Energy.
"While millions of self-employed workers cannot make ends meet and pay taxes, the Government injected millions of euros into companies for Sánchez's personal interest. Rescues plagued by irregularities, suspicions, and opacity," denounced the 'popular' leader.
The 'popular' recall that, according to their version, Aagesen initially opposed the rescue of the Basque company, believing that Tubos Reunidos "could not be rescued for ecological reasons." However, a few weeks later, the Council of Ministers gave the green light to public aid of 112.8 million euros for the firm.
"What happened in those three weeks? Why did the vice-president change her mind? Who pressured her? How did they convince her?" are some of the questions that the PP plans to ask during the appearance of the current third vice-president.
The DAO of the Civil Guard, before the "Koldo case" commission
In parallel, the investigative commission on the "Koldo case" has scheduled the appearance of the DAO of the Civil Guard, Manuel Llamas, for this Friday, July 10.
In relation to this statement, García advanced that the PP will continue investigating what he calls the "sewer command" and maintained that Llamas "will have to face up to his relationship" with this alleged plot.
Llamas's presence in the Senate will occur after the National High Court judge, Santiago Pedraz, decided to summon him to testify as an investigated person on July 16, along with the Director General of the Civil Guard, Mercedes González, after finding indications of possible crimes of prevarication and obstruction of justice within the case of the so-called "Leire Díez case".
Within the framework of these proceedings, the UCO has indicated that the former socialist militant had several meetings with the Director General of the Civil Guard and that she would have tried to promote internal actions against the investigative unit itself.
