The People's Party, led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has decided to shore up its hard core with two key moves: the incorporation of María Martín Revuelta, until now Director of Communication at GAD3, and the return of Borja Sémper to the national spokesperson role of the PP, after overcoming pancreatic cancer that kept him away from the political front line for almost 10 months.
This Monday, Sémper will resume his role as the main public face of the PP in the press conferences after the steering committee led by Feijóo, the body that sets the roadmap and the weekly strategy of the party.
In his recent public reappearance, Sémper criticized the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, and the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, for using insults in their attacks on political adversaries and reiterated his commitment not to participate "in circuses" or "shows".
"We have normalized the insult. Three days ago, the leader of the third party called the President of the Government a piece of shit. But a minister from the second party said 'I can't stand this guy' (referring to Feijóo)," lamented Sémper, who added that Congress "has become the stage for a circus."
María Martín Revuelta joins Tellado's team
In parallel, the PP has incorporated María Martín Revuelta, a law graduate and until now head of Communication at the demographic consulting firm GAD3, led by Narciso Michavila.
Her career in the party dates back to 2014, when, just over 30 years old, she was a national deputy for the PP in the Congress of Deputies. A year later, she became a councilor for the same party in the City Council of Villaviciosa de Odón (Madrid).
Martín Revuelta will join the team of the PP's secretary general, Miguel Tellado, as reported by 'OkDiario' and confirmed by Europa Press. His role will be to support the party's leadership in "strategic planning".
"It is a person who knows the house and has experience with data and anticipating political scenarios," emphasize sources close to Feijóo, who are already working with an eye on the next general elections.
