Hundreds of people have gathered this Sunday in Ceuta in a protest driven by Vito Quiles to denounce the massive entry of migrants recorded since Thursday. The event, far from showing a unanimous stance, has evidenced a strong fracture among the Ceuta citizens who attended the call.
The concentration started at 8:30 PM in the Plaza de los Reyes and, within a few minutes, several participants began to argue and confront each other, clearly divided into two opposing groups. While one sector chanted "Pedro Sánchez, son of a bitch," another responded with shouts of "Vito Quiles, son of a bitch" and "out, out."
"Despite having different ideologies, we have to unite to fight against the problems," declared a young woman to Europa Press who, visibly emotional, lamented the brawl among attendees and held Quiles responsible for "appropriating" and "putting his name" on a concentration that, she recalled, was also driven by neighborhood associations. "He came to provoke and divide us, and he has succeeded in the end," she explained sadly. "This demonstration was called a few days ago," she assured.
At the same time, alongside Quiles, the far-right group Save Europe Act made an appearance in the square, displaying a banner with the message "Sánchez has to go, Spain needs reinmigration."
