The minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function and general secretary of PSOE-M, Óscar López, has announced this Wednesday that his party will request from the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the complete file regarding the acquisition of the penthouse in Chamberí, understanding that the operation "has no justification."
"I don't know how such a file is justified. It is very difficult to justify.(...) If Mrs. Ayuso wants to have an official residence, she has to say it publicly and approve it with transparency," the minister pointed out during a press conference at the Advanced Command Post of Navalcarnero (Madrid).
In the same intervention, López emphasized that Ayuso "cannot continue buying summer residences, winter residences, chalets in Rascafría, and penthouses in Chamberí, with money from all the madrileños." "Unfortunately, they have caught her again. It happened to her in Rascafría and it has happened to her in Chamberí," added the socialist leader.
From the regional government, Ayuso has denied that the penthouse in Chamberí has been acquired for her personal enjoyment and has defended that the purchase is part of the "integral" reform planned for the Royal Post House.
"It is not my house, it is not my residence, it is not for me and they have not bought anything for Ayuso. I understand the campaign of discredit that is chosen today to throw public opinion against me. It is false. I am not buying anything, I insist, and nothing is being bought for me and I want it to be clear," the Madrid president stated at a press conference following the Government Council.
