The Ministry of Rural Affairs published this Thursday in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) the order that launches a new call for aid aimed at the purchase of efficient machinery and precision agriculture.
As the Xunta has indicated in a statement, this line of contributions aims to promote the modernization of the machinery fleet of agricultural holdings and extend the use of technologies that allow for more efficient use of natural resources in production processes.
This initiative aims to encourage the incorporation of equipment with greater energy efficiency on farms, thus contributing to improving the environmental profitability and sustainable performance of the agricultural sector.
The subsidies will finance the acquisition of agricultural machinery aimed at optimizing resource management, such as the mixer wagon with NIR ration analysis, the tractor with energy rating A, and the robot; as well as equipment related to the efficient management of manure and slurry, and the application of fertilizers and plant protection products.
Likewise, the call includes the possibility of subsidizing precision agriculture components necessary to adapt existing machinery on the farm to these new technologies.
Both holders of agricultural holdings and individuals who have an approved aid for the incorporation of young people into agriculture and have a business plan that includes environmental actions may apply for this aid, with the aim of reinforcing generational renewal in rural areas.
The intensity of the aid will be, at a minimum, 40% of the eligible costs. This percentage may be increased up to 75% depending on the characteristics of the beneficiary and the type of investment, for example in organic farming holdings, in areas with natural limitations, or if the applicant is a young person who has recently joined, among other cases.
The minimum eligible investment is set at 12,500 euros, while the maximum amount of aid per beneficiary is set at 100,000 euros.
