A facility for the valorization of waste aimed at generating biomethane in Mazaricos (A Coruña) has obtained environmental authorization from the Xunta de Galicia.
The Official Journal of Galicia (DOG) publishes this Friday the announcement through which the environmental impact report of the project, promoted by the company Biometano Galicia, SL, is made public.
According to the conclusions of the document, as long as all the established conditions are respected, "significant adverse effects on the environment are not foreseeable" and, consequently, the regional Administration considers that it is not necessary to subject the initiative to an ordinary environmental impact assessment.
The project contemplates the start-up of a facility for the valorization of organic waste generated in livestock farms, including cow manure, dung, or straw. The treatment will be carried out through anaerobic digestion to obtain biomethane, which will be injected into the existing gas network.
