The Bahía de Santander Hotel celebrates this Thursday the XXI edition of Cantabria Vinos, an event focused on new vintages, emerging trends, and the most recent market references, which has been attended by more than 90 wineries of national and international scope.

Among the exhibitors are the Cantabrian wineries Bahía de Santander, Camesía del Alto Ebro, Casona Micaela, Cayo, Orulisa, Pago Casa del Blanco, Picos de Cabariezo, Sel D'Aiz, Sierra del Oso and Sidra Somarroza, along with Cafés Dromedario and Destilería Siderit.

The fair brings together professionals from the hotel, restaurant, tourism, and food distribution sectors, as well as wine lovers and enthusiasts.

The event was attended by the Minister of Rural Development, Livestock, Fisheries and Food, María Jesús Susinos, who showed "the backing and support" of the Government of Cantabria for the wineries of the autonomous community.

The initiative is driven by the Cantabrian Food Quality Office (ODECA), responsible for promoting products covered by the protected geographical indications "Vinos de la Tierra de Liébana" and "Vinos de la Tierra Costa de Cantabria".

During her visit, Susinos highlighted the growth and consolidation of the wine sector in the region and emphasized "the effort, innovation, and commitment to quality" of the Cantabrian wineries.

She stressed that Cantabria wines "are a reflection of the work of our producers and of a territory with unique conditions," and reiterated that the regional Executive will maintain its support for the primary sector and agri-food industries "as engines of rural development, job creation, and population retention in rural areas."

The minister also underlined the importance of initiatives like Cantabria Vinos "to give visibility to local products and foster new commercial and promotional opportunities."

Susinos was accompanied by the Director General of Fisheries and Food, Paulino San Emeterio; the Director General of Forests and Biodiversity, Ángel Serdio; and the Director of ODECA, Juan Luis Centeno, among other authorities.
