Sigma in Europe, which integrates the company Campofrío Food Group and its subsidiaries, closed the 2025 fiscal year with a turnover of 2.112 billion euros, which implies a decrease of 0.5% once adjusted for the effect of the Dana on its plant in Torrente (Valencia), according to the company detailed in a statement.

The strong floods recorded last year in the Community of Valencia devastated this factory, which concentrated 9% of the installed capacity of the European division. The insurance compensations linked to this disaster have had a significant weight in the accounts released by the group.

If this impact is set aside, the gross operating profit (Ebitda) stood at 82.9 million euros, 17.2% more than in 2024, supported by the good performance of its main brands, especially in Spain, France, and Belgium, which have helped to cushion the effect of the disaster.

Returns to profits supported by insurance compensations

Across Europe, the group recorded a consolidated result for the year, including non-recurring impacts, of 40.1 million euros in profit, compared to the losses of 63 million recorded in 2024, thanks to the higher Ebitda, positive exchange rate differences, and insurance compensations.

Without considering these non-recurring elements, Sigma would have recorded losses of 31.2 million euros, which represents an improvement of 6.5% compared to the 'red numbers' of 33.3 million from the previous year.

Globally, Sigma achieved record sales of 9.273 billion dollars (8.210 billion euros), 4% more year-on-year, and obtained a consolidated Ebitda of 1.099 billion dollars (973 million euros).

Looking ahead to the coming years, the group has emphasized that this "favorable evolution is framed within a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at improving profitability in Europe and continuing to consolidate the recovery path in the region."

Reduces losses and strengthens investment in Spain

In the Spanish market and despite the effect of the Dana on its operations, the company achieved in 2025 a turnover of 1.113 billion euros, which represents an advance of 0.5% compared to the 1.107 billion from the previous year.

Sigma cut its losses by 2% after closing 2025 with 'red numbers' of 31.1 million euros, in a year marked by non-recurring impacts associated with positive exchange differences and insurance compensations. Considering these elements, the firm obtained 48.1 million in profit, compared to the consolidated losses of 96.9 million euros in 2024.

Apart from the effect of the insurance compensations for the disaster, the company managed to raise its Ebitda by 25%, to 36.2 million euros, compared to 29.02 million in 2024. For this year, Sigma has set as a priority to definitively stabilize its production capacity in Spain and accelerate the full recovery of its industrial activity.

After announcing in 2025 a global investment of 157 million euros to ensure its production capabilities in the long term after the Dana, the company has initiated the works for the future industrial complex in Valencia, which is expected to be operational by mid-2027. In this context, Campofrío announced the project for a new processed meat plant in Utiel (Valencia), which will replace the damaged facility in Torrent.

This initiative is part of the Global Industrial Plan, which includes the aforementioned estimated investment of 157 million euros. Of this amount, 134 million will be allocated to the construction of the new plant and 23 million to the implementation of new production lines at the La Bureba (Burgos) factory.
