Unións Agrarias has once again focused on the distribution of CAP aids, denouncing that they are being concentrated in a small group of agricultural holdings.
In a public note, the organization emphasizes that "just over 10% of the recipients receive almost half of the aids that the CAP distributes annually in Spain."
"This is shown by the data from the Report on Direct Aids and Rural Development carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture in relation to the 2025 campaign," the entity highlights, which takes as a reference the official figures from the department.
"An analysis that reflects an excessive and growing support for holdings run by legal entities and, probably, larger compared to a decrease in incentives directed at individual farmers and ranchers," it adds, criticizing the bias of the system towards large business structures over individual producers.
According to Unións Agrarias, in 2025, 10.45% of CAP beneficiaries were legal entities and concentrated 43.21% of the amounts, while the remaining 57.79% was distributed among the 89.55% of recipients who are natural persons.
Regarding the profile of those receiving these aids in Galicia, the organization explains that "the bulk of the people receiving direct CAP aids in Galicia are in the age range between 40 and 65 years." "They account for 61.8% of the total of 18,610 active recipients in the Galician territory." "However, only 9.6% are below the age range of 40," it also states, highlighting the aging of the Galician agricultural sector.
