The PSOE has requested the judge to delve into the "link" of the promoters of the concentration held on New Year's Eve 2023 in front of the socialist federal headquarters on Ferraz street, in Madrid, where several attendees hit a doll representing the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, with the aim of "proving" that the act "had the organization" of "far-right groups," "violent groups," and "political parties like Vox."
The request appears in a document that Europa Press has accessed and that has been sent to the magistrate in Madrid who is instructing the proceedings regarding these events.
In its document, the PSOE claims that the Provincial Information Brigade of the National Police prepare a detailed report to clarify "who the formal organizers and the material responsible for the event were," how the call was funded and disseminated, and what purpose it pursued, "all of this with an investigation into the link of the organizers with political or far-right organizations."
According to the party's legal representation, "the above is necessary to prove that the concentration had an organization, promotion, and economic and media infrastructure by far-right groups, by political parties like Vox, and by violent groups," and specifies that "one of the violent and threatening slogans" chanted that night was "hang him by the feet."
Slogans and references to statements by Abascal
The PSOE relates that chant to statements by the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, to the Argentine newspaper 'Clarín', where he stated that "there will come a time" when citizens will want to "hang Pedro Sánchez by the feet."
The document also emphasizes that "it is noted in the initial report that is part of the proceedings, that precisely this political formation, Vox, was related to the association through which funds were raised to finance the call," as well as with Revuelta, "which was its youth organization."
Therefore, the socialist formation requests that the judge send an official letter to Vox to detail its "formal, organic, or economic link at the time of the events" with Revuelta and to inform about the "affiliation" to Abascal's formation of those investigated in the case, as well as whether any of them has maintained "any labor, professional, or other relationship" with the party.
The PSOE also asks to clarify whether the investigated individuals had been previously detained or identified for their participation in the disturbances recorded in November 2023 on Ferraz street.
Claim for new proceedings and documentation
In parallel, the PSOE requests the search, detention, and presentation before the judiciary of a citizen identified as Ding Jinxin, investigated in these proceedings, so that he can testify before the magistrate.
Likewise, it demands that the court notify the City Council of Madrid and the Government Delegation in the community to send the infringement records, identifications, or service notes drawn up during New Year's Eve 2023 in relation to what happened in Ferraz, along with the files and authorizations related to the summoned concentration.
The party maintains that New Year's Eve in Ferraz "was not peaceful nor had a playful intention," but rather "sought intimidation and coercion through the representation of the violent lynching of a doll as if it were Pedro Sánchez."
The document recalls that "New Year's Eve in Ferraz occurs as a continuation of the serious disturbances that took place for days in the vicinity of the PSOE headquarters, in which a significant number of riot police had to be deployed, helicopters that flew over from the afternoon until late at night, drones, which led to the need to place security barriers around its perimeter to protect the PSOE headquarters."
