The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, has wanted to underline, "in view of the events", that the "immense majority" of public officials are "honest". The socialist leader made these statements in Valdepeñas, during the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion and modernization project of the Oesía Group Technology Center.

Taking advantage of the presence of the socialist mayor of Valdepeñas, Jesús Martín, the head of the regional executive praised the mayor's career. "I wish that all the politicians I know, even all those I have known and, especially, in the town halls, would go out of their way for their city and for their people, as you have done."

In "view of the events", García-Page insisted, "it must be made clear that not all politicians are the same", emphasizing that "the immense majority of those I know -- I don't say of those I have known --" are "honest", as the regional president reiterated.

These statements have served him to emphasize that "honesty begins by trying to keep the word given to citizens". "When a politician does the opposite of what he tells citizens, when he does it in a pathological way, you will understand that anything is possible."

Returning to his reference to the mayor of Valdepeñas, whom he described as "an example" in his locality, in the province of Ciudad Real, in the autonomous community, and for "all who know him in Spain", García-Page assured that Jesús Martín will be able to look back on his political career, which "is not over", and feel "very proud".

"Perhaps the only asset that politicians in the world, especially in our country, should aspire to is to be able to look back without having to lower their heads." That is what "many of us aspire to", he concluded.
