CGT has announced an indefinite strike at Groundforce at Barcelona Airport starting from next August 4, according to the union in a statement released this Thursday.
The strike will affect ground assistance staff, passenger check-in and boarding workers, as well as the team responsible for flight coordination at the Barcelona airport facilities.
The union organization points out that the call responds to the passivity of management in the face of "the serious deterioration of risk prevention and labor health conditions" at the Barcelona base.
According to CGT, the workforce is facing "unsustainable workloads and a high turnover of staff that generates extreme levels of physical fatigue, stress, and risk of accidents," in addition to organizational mismatches and the "lack of adequate training periods for new hires."
Groundforce Barcelona provides handling services to airlines such as Air Europa, Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, SAS, or Air Arabia, among other international airlines.
