The total volume of assets distributed in Spain exceeded the threshold of one trillion euros at the end of April, thus setting a historic record, according to the latest data released this Tuesday by the employers' association Inverco.

These assets include the sum of collective investment instruments and pension funds managed by both national and foreign banks and asset managers. According to the association, the global amount represents more than 59% of Spanish GDP.

By segments, assets managed in Spain through national investment funds and variable capital investment companies (SICAVs) reached 488,272 million euros at the close of April.

For their part, international collective investment institutions (IIC) concluded the fourth month of the year with assets of 383,000 euros, while pension plans add up to 139,394 million euros in assets marketed in the Spanish market.
