The Ibex 35 has begun August marking again record levels this Monday, advancing by 1.01% and placing itself at 19,982.6 points, remaining at the doors of the symbolic threshold of 20,000 integers, despite the doubts persisting in the international geopolitical scenario.

During the session, investors have kept their focus on the Middle East. The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has communicated the start of a new round of contacts with Iran on the afternoon of this Monday, after his statements about the supposed suspension of an attack against the Islamic Republic after reaching, according to him, an agreement for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

However, Iran has denied that a negotiation is taking place. "Doctor Araqchi is leaving today for Arbaín and all the interlocutors of the negotiation are also in Iran. We have not added any new mediator to the already existing ones," the spokesperson responded when asked about these latest statements from President Trump regarding the resumption of talks.

"An important step, given the concern of Gulf countries that fear the resumption of U.S. attacks on Iran will trigger an intense round of fighting and that a worsening of the war will lead to the Houthis, allies of Iran," explained analysts from Renta 4.
