The day of strike called at Iberdrola by CCOO and UGT to demand a "fair" agreement was being carried out in an atmosphere of absolute normality. According to the first internal data provided by the company to Europa Press, around eight out of ten employees have reported to their jobs with complete normality.

In response to the unions' demands, the electricity company emphasizes that the average remuneration of its workers is well above both the average salary in Spain and that of the entire energy sector.

The company also highlights a wide catalog of social benefits that, as it emphasizes, are not present in many other companies: private medical insurance, advantageous electricity bill rates for employees in primary and secondary residences, collective life insurance, various grants and advances, access to vacation apartments in coastal and mountain areas, as well as pension plans integrated into a compensation package that it considers particularly competitive.

Iberdrola also refers to two recent surveys on labor preferences (conducted by SigmaDos and "Financial Times"), in which the multinational of Basque origin appears as the most desired company to work for in the Basque Country and the fifth nationally.

In this context, the company indicates that each year it receives "thousands" of job applications and that its voluntary turnover rate in Spain barely reaches 0.6%, the lowest among the large companies in the Ibex 35 (out of a workforce of about 9,000 professionals), which, in its opinion, demonstrates a notable commitment and loyalty on the part of the workers.

Iberdrola's workforce in Spain is distributed across about 400 centers throughout the country and is structured in different work shifts to ensure service continuity.
