The trade surplus of Argentina in the first half of the year multiplied by five (404%), reaching 13.923 million dollars (12.238 million euros), according to a report released by the Chamber of Exporters of the Argentine Republic (CERA).
According to this document, sales abroad increased by 24.4%, standing at 49.454 million dollars (43.469 million euros), while purchases from abroad fell by 3.9% and closed the semester at 35.531 million dollars (31.231 million euros).
In the export basket, oil stood out, with 4.693 million dollars (4.125 million euros); corn, with 4.171 million dollars (3.666 million euros); and flour and "pellets" of soybean oil, with 4.161 million dollars (3.657 million euros).
The main destination markets were Brazil, with 6.254 million dollars (5.497 million euros); China, with 4.891 million dollars (4.299 million euros); and the United States, with 4.859 million dollars (4.271 million euros).
In the opposite direction, China, with 7.983 million dollars (7.017 million euros); Brazil, with 7.650 million dollars (6.724 million euros); and the United States, with 3.284 million dollars (2.887 million euros), consolidated as the main origins of Argentine imports.
In June, the trade balance recorded a surplus of 2.194 million dollars (1.928 million euros), which represents an increase of 149%, driven by a year-on-year advance of 24.5% in exports, which totaled 9.055 million dollars (7.959 million euros).
This last figure became the second highest in the historical series, only behind the 9.578 million dollars (8.419 million euros) recorded in May 2026.
In contrast, imports reached 6.861 million dollars (6.031 million euros), 7.3% more, ending a sequence of two consecutive months of declines.
