The president of the Junta de Extremadura, María Guardiola, has unveiled the composition of her new government, in which she has expanded the number of ministries from nine to ten. Abel Bautista becomes vice president and assumes the Ministry of the Presidency and Coordination of Government Action.
The new cabinet, the result of the government agreement with Vox, incorporates two representatives from this party: Óscar Fernández Calle, as Vice President and Minister of Deregulation, Social Services and Family, and Juan José García, as Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Natural Environment.
This was announced by María Guardiola this Wednesday at a press conference in Mérida, where she detailed that two members of her previous Executive continue, although with changes in portfolios. This is the case of Mercedes Morán, who leaves Agriculture to assume the new Ministry of Industry, Energy and Territory, and of Francisco Ramírez, who becomes Minister of Infrastructures, Transport and Housing after having been in charge of Forest Management.
The new Government also incorporates two new profiles: Sandra Valencia, who takes over Education and Vocational Training replacing Mercedes Vaquera, and Laureano León, new head of Culture, Tourism and Sports replacing Victoria Bazaga.
For their part, they maintain their responsibilities Elena Manzano, at the head of Finance, Public Administration and Social Dialogue, in addition to the Spokesperson; Sara García Espada, in Health and Dependency Care; and Guillermo Santamaría, in Economy, Employment and Digital Transformation.
Likewise, Ara Sánchez Vera will continue as general secretary of Equality and Conciliation, a department with the rank of ministry, as confirmed by the president.
During his speech, Guardiola has underlined that it is a fully motivated and ambitious Executive, with the objective of "materializing" its government program and "fulfilling the agreements reached to offer stability to the region in the next four years".
