The Ministry of Health has communicated this Sunday that the health resources of Ceuta have carried out 1,622 assistances to migrants since last Friday. Between 9:00 a.m. on August 1 and 9:00 a.m. on August 2, 473 attentions were recorded, compared to the 1,149 notified on the previous day.
According to the information provided by the National Institute of Health Management (INGESA), of those 473 assistances carried out in the last 24 hours, 291 occurred in the field of Primary Care and 172 in Specialized Care at the University Hospital of Ceuta.
At the Primary Care level, the Otero Health Center attended to 177 people, the device set up in Tarajal to 27, the Primary Care Emergency Service (SUAP) to seven, and the four teams of 061 carried out 80 interventions.
On the other hand, the Emergency service of the University Hospital performed 172 assistances, also without noteworthy incidents, according to the balance disseminated by the department.
Regarding hospital occupancy, one patient remains admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), another in Pediatrics, two in Obstetrics, two newborns in Neonatology after a twin birth, four patients in the surgical ward, another four in medical hospitalization, and four more in the Emergency Observation area. Likewise, INGESA has specified that there have been no fatalities.
The Ministry has emphasized that, "despite the statements made by political actors, without any data to support it," at no time have there been episodes of collapse in the Health Area of Ceuta.
According to Health, the reinforcements of healthcare and non-healthcare personnel deployed by INGESA, along with the distribution of care across various devices, have helped alleviate pressure on certain services and avoid episodes of saturation.
For her part, the Minister of Health, Mónica García, has expressed on the social network X her recognition of the work of the professionals of INGESA in Ceuta.
"Thanks to their professionalism and willingness, it has been possible to coordinate actions to respond to a very complicated situation," she stated, before highlighting that "once again, public workers" have given "the best response when it is needed," she pointed out.
