A seismic event of magnitude 4.7 on the Richter scale shook the vicinity of Naples, in southern Italy, on the afternoon of this Friday, causing at least a dozen minor injuries, as well as the suspension of rail traffic and various power outages in the affected area.
The tremor occurred at 19:46 hours in the area of the Phlegraean Fields, with the epicenter located about five kilometers from the town of Pozzuoli and at a depth of three kilometers, according to data provided by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology.
So far, ten injuries have been reported, none of them serious, as informed by the Italian Department of Civil Protection through its social media profiles.
The agency specified that, as a consequence of the seismic movement, there have been "collapses of uninhabited buildings, power supply cuts, damage to the Pozzuoli dock, and landslides in the territory, which will be verified in the coming hours."
