The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, confirmed this Tuesday the death of three people as a result of a new wave of attacks by the Russian Armed Forces against the province of Zaporizhia and the region of Kherson. "The Russians have attacked a simple multi-story residential building," he denounced.
As Zelensky explained, in this latest series of bombings over Zaporizhia, Russian troops have used guided bombs, an offensive that has caused two fatalities and around a dozen injuries, according to information provided by the regional governor, Ivan Fedorov.
The Ukrainian leader indicated that the impact has affected the entire building. "All emergency services, rescuers, and doctors are working at the scene doing everything possible to help the people," he noted on his social media.
In addition, Zelensky has denounced new attacks by the Russian Army in other usual points of the front, such as Kherson, where another fatality has been recorded, and Odesa, where missiles have also hit a residential building.
In light of this situation, the Ukrainian president has reiterated the importance of his allies maintaining pressure on Russia, not only through sanctions —referring to the new package that the European Union is finalizing— but also by addressing the demands for weapons made by Kyiv.
"It is crucial that the requests for weapons and equipment to counter the Russians --all that we talk about with military and government officials-- be supplied as quickly as possible by the manufacturers. Everything that helps protect lives must be implemented as soon as possible," Zelensky has urged.
