This Sunday at 4:00 PM (11:00 PM in peninsular Spain) voting in Colombia's polling stations for the presidential elections has concluded, immediately giving way to the official count.

The count is being coordinated by the Registry Office, headed by Hernán Penagos, who has underlined the calm and normality with which the entire electoral day has unfolded.

"The Registry Office will publish all the electoral records, 360,000 records. This means that this electoral moment is very important, but it clearly and precisely assures that the citizenry can observe the results," explained the head of the organization.

With 0.33% of the polling stations counted, a percentage still insufficient to draw firm conclusions, the first official data place Iván Cepeda, from the Historical Pact, with 54.41% of the votes, compared to the 34.67% obtained for now by the right-wing candidate, Abelardo de la Espriella.
