At least two people have lost their lives and another thirteen have been injured after an explosion occurred inside a minibus in the town of Yaramana, in the vicinity of the Syrian capital, Damascus, according to what the country's authorities communicated this Thursday.
The Syrian Ministry of Health has conveyed to the state news agency SANA this first balance of victims from an "explosion" that occurred at the Al Rauda intersection, in that municipality, located about three kilometers southeast of the capital.
After the blast, medical services have immediately moved to the site to provide a "rapid response" and proceed with the "immediate" evacuation of the injured, while hospitals and emergency services in the area have been put on "maximum alert".
In the area of the incident, healthcare personnel, Civil Defense teams, members of the Syrian Red Crescent, and agents from the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Ministry of Interior continue to work, according to information released by SANA.
For now, the specific cause of the explosion has not been clarified.
Less than a month ago, two explosions occurred in the Syrian capital, near the hotel where French President Emmanuel Macron was staying during his official visit to the country, which left one dead and more than 35 injured.
