The Iranian Executive has held the European Union (EU) responsible this Thursday for an alleged "complicity" with the surprise offensive launched on February 28 by the United States and Israel against the country, in full development of the conversations between Washington and Tehran to try to close a new pact on the Iranian nuclear program.

"The indifference and acquiescence of the EU in the face of the aggressions, brutalities and atrocities of the United States and Israel are nothing less than complicity," said the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baqaei, who stressed that "the world is watching."

In recent days, Iran's authorities have repeatedly lashed out against the positions expressed by several leaders of the community bloc regarding the war in the Middle East, specifically citing the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.

According to the balance provided by Tehran, the joint military operation by the United States and Israel has already caused more than 1,200 deaths in Iranian territory. Among the fatalities are the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as several ministers and high-ranking commanders of the Armed Forces, which has led Iran to respond with the launch of missiles and drones against Israel and against targets linked to the United States in various Middle Eastern countries, including military bases.
