The Iranian Revolutionary Guard claims that its units have destroyed around 150 military facilities and equipment of the United States in the Persian Gulf area during the last two weeks of escalating warfare. Among the targets attacked are command centers, ground attack aircraft and helicopters, Patriot air defense systems, radars, hangars, and even an Amazon data center.
According to a statement released by the Iranian public broadcaster IRIB, the spokesman for the Revolutionary Guard, Sardar Mohebi, has presented this balance as the result of the "decisive and forceful attacks" initiated on July 7, the date on which the United States responded with bombings to new "intimidations" from Iran against tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.
Since that moment, Iranian forces have launched missiles and drones against bases with U.S. presence in several countries in the region, such as Bahrain, Jordan, or Kuwait. These governments have reported that the impacts of Iranian projectiles are also affecting civilian infrastructure, beyond the declared military targets.
The Revolutionary Guard details that among the targets reached are seven command and control centers, six Patriot defense radars, and five long-range defense radars. In addition, it claims to have destroyed six combat aircraft repair centers, six missile silos, four HIMARS missile platforms, 11 stationed combat aircraft and helicopters, 17 reconnaissance drones, and eight aerial refueling aircraft.
Washington, for its part, maintains strict secrecy about the extent of the material damage caused by the Iranian attacks and limits itself to providing data on the casualties. Since the beginning of the war with Iran on February 28, the provisional balance provided by the United States is 14 dead and around 420 injured among its nationals.
