The number of civilian deaths in the Burmese civil war has reached 100,114 since the start of the conflict following the 2021 coup d'état, according to the Conflict Index compiled by ACLED, a project specializing in monitoring episodes of political violence worldwide.

The figures include civilians killed in the context of clashes between the different warring factions, although the military junta controlling the country has not yet released its own official figures.

Analysts have warned that this is the deadliest conflict currently active in Asia. Burma has been going through a deep crisis since the military coup, carried out by the Armed Forces to invalidate the results of the general elections held in November 2020.

The repression unleashed after the coup led to a civil war that has severely deteriorated the country's internal situation, a scenario that has been further compromised by the magnitude 7.7 earthquake registered in March 2025.
