The United States Army Central Command has announced this Wednesday the launch of new attacks "in legitimate defense" against various targets located in Iranian territory, in reaction to the bombings launched during the early morning by Iran's forces against U.S. bases in Bahrain and other Middle Eastern enclaves.

"U.S. Central Command forces began launching new attacks in legitimate defense against multiple targets in Iran today at 5:15 PM (11:00 PM Spanish peninsular time), following the instructions of the commander-in-chief (Donald Trump)," it reported on its social networks.

In the same statement, CENTCOM emphasized that "these attacks are a response to Iran's unjustified and continued aggression," after the U.S. president once again threatened for the second consecutive day to strike the Asian country, reiterating that Tehran must sign the agreement that both parties have been negotiating for weeks without further delay.

For its part, Iran's Revolutionary Guard has claimed responsibility during the early hours of this Wednesday for a series of drone attacks against United States facilities in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait, in "retaliation" for the offensives carried out hours earlier by Washington against different strategic points of the Islamic Republic.
