An 18-year-old young Palestinian woman has lost her life and 15 other people have been injured this Friday in an Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip, carried out despite the ceasefire in effect since October 2025, as a result of the agreement between the Israeli government and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to launch the first phase of the United States' proposal on the future of the enclave.
According to information released by the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the deceased victim, identified as "Bushra Hani Hasan al Barahma," died in a drone bombing near Khan Yunis, in the southern Palestinian territory. The 15 injured people have been transferred to various medical centers, with no specific data provided at the moment regarding the severity of each of their conditions.
Gaza authorities, under Hamas control, updated the victim toll on Thursday, placing the number of deaths at "947" and injuries at "2,935" as a consequence of Israeli attacks recorded since the ceasefire came into effect. They also recalled that, since the start of the offensive launched by Israel following the "October 7, 2023" attacks — which left "about 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped," according to the official toll — "72,956 deaths" and "173,043 injuries" have been recorded in the Strip.
