The president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has demanded this Friday that political responsibilities be assumed for the wildfires that are ravaging different areas of Spain, which he has described as a "national disaster," and has directly pointed to Pedro Sánchez and "his mafia," referring to the Government, as responsible for the magnitude of the fires.
In a message published on his profile on the social network X, Abascal has linked the wildfires to "climate fanaticism" that "prevents prevention," he has stated. Immediately after, he added that "the corruption of the Government prevents the necessary means for extinction."
The Vox leader has also attacked "the mafia" of the Executive for "using tragedies to wear down non-aligned governments," in a clear allusion to the regional governments led by the Popular Party. "Sánchez is a plague," he has declared.
This same Friday, Vox has rejected that climate change is the main cause of the wildfires and has attributed their origin to "ideology," "incompetence," and the "abandonment" of the rural environment.
