The Deputy Secretary of Autonomous Policy, Municipal and Electoral Analysis of the Popular Party, Elías Bendodo, assured this Sunday that, when the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, arrives at La Moncloa, he will put an end to the "environmental ideology" and will bet on "common sense," prioritizing the regeneration of the beaches of Málaga and emphasizing the economic importance that tourism has for the province.
Bendodo made these statements during a visit to Marbella, accompanied by the general secretary of the PP in the municipality and regional deputy, Manuel Cardeña, and by the Andalusian parliamentarian Jéssica Trujillo. During the event, he recalled that the Government of Mariano Rajoy announced in May 2018 the construction of breakwaters and protective measures for the beaches of Marbella and San Pedro, "but a month later the PSOE put forward the motion of censure, defended by Ábalos, and suspended that investment," as the party pointed out in a note.
The also national deputy for Málaga accused the Executive of Pedro Sánchez of "punishing the people of Málaga with the most expensive toll in Spain," referring to the Costa del Sol highway, whose cost increases in high season during the summer months.
On the other hand, the national deputy secretary pointed out that the Government faces the month of August "without oxygen," without new public accounts and without the necessary support in Congress. In his opinion, "His partners abandoned him a long time ago and a recent example is that in the last Council of Ministers he had to put the Housing decree back in the drawer."
In this line, he emphasized that "In any country in our environment, if you fail to approve the budgets, the Cortes are dissolved and elections are called. But Sánchez resists and that resistance is suffered by the Spaniards," linking the lack of budgets to a reduction in aerial resources allocated to the fight against forest fires, as he concluded.
