The spokesperson for the parliamentary group of Vox, Manuel Gavira, who is set to assume the Vice Presidency of the Government of Juanma Moreno in the Ministry of Tourism, Deregulation, Justice and Local Administration, has supported this Saturday the 50% reduction in subsidies received by unions and business organizations for their institutional participation work.

"The seafood feasts at the expense of Andalusians are over. Public resources must be exclusively allocated to meet the needs of citizens," Gavira stated in a message published on the social network X and disseminated by Europa Press.

The agreement establishes that, starting from the first budget of the legislature, that is, the one corresponding to 2027, the Andalusian Executive "will proceed to reduce by 50% the subsidies allocated to unions and business organizations for the exercise of institutional participation, as well as to private entities that do not objectively prove effective public utility."

The Law on Institutional Participation of the most representative business and trade union organizations in Andalusia, agreed upon with social agents and the President of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, was approved in the Andalusian Parliament with the support of PP and PSOE-A, while Vox positioned itself against it.

The legal text contemplates that "exceptionally" the Governing Council may set "the amounts corresponding to institutional participation; annual compensation for institutional participation which is classified in the norm as 'indemnity' and, consequently, without 'subsidy legal nature'". This compensation is based on "dedication and attendance to collegiate bodies and other areas of negotiation, agreement or social dialogue" of the most representative trade union and business organizations.

Likewise, the norm determines that said compensatory amounts "will be allocated annually on an individualized basis for each organization" in the budget of the Ministry responsible for employment matters, and it is ensured that "the total of the amounts recognized to trade union organizations is identical to the total of the amounts recognized to intersectoral business organizations."
