The Ministry of Agriculture of the Generalitat has communicated the appearance of 2 new cases of African swine fever (ASF) in Catalonia during the last week, both located within the area classified as high risk.
According to the department's details this Thursday in a statement, one of the positives has been recorded in Barcelona and the other in Sant Just Desvern (Barcelona), so the number of municipalities included in this area of special surveillance remains at 19.
In the last seven days, 460 samples have been analyzed, of which two have resulted positive. This implies an infection rate of 0.40% and raises the total number of affected specimens since the beginning of the outbreak to 375.
