At least twelve alleged militants have been killed in the last 48 hours in two operations by the Pakistan Army in the province of Balochistan, in the west of the country. Authorities attribute the deceased to their membership in Fitna al Hindustan, a term used by Islamabad to refer to the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and other separatist groups.
"On August 5 and 6, 2026, security forces carried out two high-intensity operations based on intelligence information in the districts of Washuk and Mastung, in Balochistan (...) in which 12 terrorists from Fitna Al Hindustan were killed," the Army indicated in a statement released this Thursday on social media.
According to the statement itself, these interventions are part of "an unrelenting anti-terrorism campaign aimed at eliminating Indian agents," which the Pakistani Army claims to be developing in the region. In one of the actions, six of the suspects were killed this Thursday in an "intense" shootout with security forces in the district of Mustang, after which the troops destroyed their "hideout."
Meanwhile, the other six alleged fighters lost their lives the day before during "precise and skillful clashes" with Army units in the district of Washuk. "The six terrorists belonging to India's proxy group, Fitna Al Hindustan, were sent to hell," the Army celebrated.
The BLA, a separatist organization active in Balochistan, has carried out numerous attacks in recent years in the context of its demands for greater autonomy for this province, considered one of the poorest and most marginalized regions of Pakistan. Pakistani authorities have repeatedly accused India of supporting these groups with the aim of destabilizing the country.
