El Ganso and Marqués de Riscal have launched an alliance to reuse materials and waste from grape harvests in a "made in Spain" initiative that combines tradition, textile innovation and a strong commitment to sustainability, as they explained in a statement.

Specifically, starting from the lees obtained in the 2025 harvest of Marqués de Riscal, both firms have developed a new fabric dyeing technique, bringing the essence of the wine-making process to the design of exclusive garments.

Thus, the lees, a natural byproduct of wine production, become the centerpiece of a proposal that fuses tradition, innovation and design. With the collaboration of the factory Eyand, this material linked to the wine world is transformed into a natural pigment that adds color to the collection’s garments.

It is a project that, through research and development, opens new avenues for making use of a material with a history, giving it a new life in the fashion sector.

As a result of this collaboration, El Ganso and Marqués de Riscal have presented a capsule collection of limited edition for men and women made up of 10 pieces, which include footwear, a "tote bag", T-shirts, sweatshirts and shirts. In each garment, the origin of the pigment forms part of the story, from its source to the process that provides the final color.

With this proposal, El Ganso strengthens its roadmap based on three pillars: sustainability, circularity and the use of natural dyes. The goal is to minimize its environmental footprint, promoting more responsible use of resources and extending the service life of materials.

Along these same lines, in addition to the collaboration with Marqués de Riscal, the Spanish firm has launched circular economy projects and agreements with specialized partners in order to continue researching more responsible alternatives within the textile industry.

"This collaboration with El Ganso, which allows us to give a second life to lees derived from wine production, is fully integrated into our commitment to sustainability. At Marqués de Riscal, we understand that commitment to the environment, the land and the vineyard are at the center, and for that reason we bet on regenerative agriculture, and on the responsible management of resources", the CEO of Marqués de Riscal, Ricardo Diéguez, has assured.

For his part, Álvaro Cebrián, founder of El Ganso, has celebrated this alliance with the historic Rioja winery. "We love joining up with brands that, like us, have a story to tell and dare to do things in a different way. With Marqués de Riscal we have managed to take the world of wine to fashion in a very special way: by transforming the grape from its harvest into a natural dye that gives life to our garments. A collaboration that blends tradition, creativity, and that streak of nonconformity that so much identifies us," he said.

This limited-edition capsule collection is already available through El Ganso's 'e-commerce' platform, in its physical stores, in El Corte Inglés corners, and in Marqués de Riscal's physical store.
