The Monday, November 2, 2026 will be a holiday in nine Spanish autonomous communities, after All Saints' Day, which this year falls on Sunday, November 1, has been moved to Monday in part of the national territory. This circumstance will affect the opening hours of commercial establishments and, especially, supermarkets, although Carrefour, Lidl, Aldi and Dia will keep numerous stores open during the day, unlike Mercadona, which will generally close in the territories where the holiday is celebrated.

Opening will depend on the autonomous community, the locality, and the specific establishment, since not all chains apply the same hours on Sundays and holidays. While some stores will serve the public throughout the day, others will opt for reduced hours or remain closed. The situation will be especially relevant in communities such as Madrid and Andalusia, where regulations allow commercial opening during the holiday Monday and several chains have already announced their special hours.

Carrefour hours on Monday, November 2: which stores are open

Carrefour will be one of the main alternatives for grocery shopping during Monday, November 2, although its hours will vary depending on the commercial format. The company has hypermarkets, Carrefour Market supermarkets and Carrefour Express convenience stores, which may follow different schedules depending on their location and the autonomous regulations.

In Andalusia, where November 2 is included among the authorized commercial opening holidays, Carrefour will keep much of its network operating. According to the information published about its establishments, 312 of the community's 315 stores will open. The hypermarkets in Seville, Málaga, Granada and other cities will mostly serve customers from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., while Carrefour Market stores may operate in time slots such as 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. or 10:00 p.m.

The Carrefour Express and Carrefour City stores have greater flexibility, especially in urban and tourist areas, where some stores maintain extended hours even on holidays. In the Community of Madrid there are also numerous opening options, although the chain warns that not all of its centers operate on the same schedule. For this reason, it recommends checking the chosen store through its official holiday opening locator.

Lidl opens on November 2: supermarket hours

Lidl will also keep numerous supermarkets open on Monday, November 2, both in communities where the day is a holiday and in those where it is considered a working day. The German chain will apply different hours depending on the store, so some will open only for part of the day and others will remain active until late in the afternoon or at night.

In the Community of Madrid, for example, the Lidl located at Santa Petronila Street, 1, announces a special opening from 8:00 to 22:00 hours for the holiday Monday. Other supermarkets, such as the one on Vía Carpetana Street, 145, or the one on Sinesio Delgado, 62, will remain open from 9:00 to 22:00 hours, according to the hours published by the company itself.

In Andalusia, Lidl will also offer broad possibilities for shopping. The chain plans to open 140 establishments during the holiday, with hours that in numerous stores will extend from 9:00 to 21:30 or 22:00 hours. In Seville and its metropolitan area, 22 of the 23 supermarkets analyzed will open, while in Málaga capital nine of the ten establishments will be operational.

Therefore, there is no single Lidl schedule for November 2. Although certain stores may apply reduced hours, others will maintain practically their usual hours. The company allows you to consult the specific openings in its supermarket locator, where the corresponding changes for each holiday also appear.

Aldi: supermarkets open on Monday, November 2 and special hours

Aldi will be another of the chains that will open numerous establishments during the All Saints' bridge, with special hours in different parts of Spain. In the Community of Madrid, several stores have confirmed their activity for Monday, November 2, despite it being a holiday throughout the region.

The supermarket located at avenida de Juan Antonio Samaranch, 55, in Madrid will open from 10:00 to 21:00 hours, as will the establishment on Alsasua Street, 2. For its part, the store located on the street de las Higueras, 33-35, will serve the public from 10:00 to 22:00 hours, according to the special hours published on Aldi's official page.

In Andalucía, numerous openings will also be recorded. The chain plans to keep 103 supermarkets operating in the community, with hours that in cities such as Málaga, Granada, Sevilla or Jaén will usually be between 9:00 and 21:30, although some stores may extend service until 22:00.

These differences show that Aldi does not apply a generalized closure for the holiday of November 2. However, opening will depend on each establishment, so the company recommends checking its official store locator, which includes a specific section for special hours.

Dia: which stores open on November 2 and until what time

Dia will keep an important part of its commercial network open during Monday, November 2, although hours will depend especially on the location and on whether the supermarket operates as its own establishment or as a franchise. The chain has numerous neighborhood stores, some of which also provide service on Sundays and holidays.

In Andalucía, several establishments are scheduled to operate with hours similar to the usual ones. In Málaga city, for example, the opening of 35 Dia stores has been announced during the holiday Monday, most of them from 9:00 to 21:00, although one of them will close at 14:00. In Sevilla and its metropolitan area, a wide offering of supermarkets open during the day is also expected.

In other localities, especially in smaller establishments and some franchises, hours may be limited to the morning, with openings from 9:00 and closings around 14:30 or 15:00. Therefore, it cannot be assumed that all Dia supermarkets will remain open until night.

The company has a store locator on its website, where users can find the nearest establishments and check their hours. This check is especially important during holidays, since two supermarkets of the same chain located in the same city may have different hours.

Where it is a holiday on Monday, November 2, 2026

The labor calendar published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) establishes that Monday, November 2 will be a holiday in Andalusia, Aragón, Asturias, Canarias, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Comunidad de Madrid, Extremadura and Navarra. These nine communities have chosen to move the All Saints' Day holiday to Monday, which this year falls on Sunday.

In contrast, Cataluña, Comunidad Valenciana, Galicia, Baleares, Cantabria, Región de Murcia, País Vasco and La Rioja, as well as Ceuta and Melilla, have not moved the holiday, so Monday will be an ordinary workday, except for possible local particularities. In these territories, supermarkets will generally open with their usual Monday hours, without prejudice to the exceptions of each establishment.

The difference between communities does not necessarily mean that businesses must close where the holiday is observed. Andalucía has expressly authorized commercial opening on November 2, while Madrid has a regime of freedom of hours that allows establishments to decide whether to open to the public. Therefore, the condition of labor holiday and the authorization of commercial opening are separate matters.

How to check which supermarkets are open on November 2

Before traveling, consumers can consult the official hours of the main chains to confirm which stores will be operating during the long weekend:

In short, Carrefour, Lidl, Aldi and Dia will offer numerous alternatives for shopping during Monday, November 2, even in communities where the All Saints' holiday is observed. However, hours may vary from reduced morning openings to full days that extend until 9:30 p.m. or 10:00 p.m., so it is advisable to confirm the schedule of the specific establishment before leaving home.
