The VI Professional Trade Fair for Machinery, Agriculture and Livestock, Abanca Cimag-GandAgro, which will take place from 25 to 27 February 2027 at the Feira Internacional de Galicia Abanca, in Silleda, will once again become the great showcase of "quality and potential" for Friesian cattle thanks to its already established livestock competitions.
The main focus of the program will be the morphological competitions, scheduled for Saturday 27 February and organized by the Federación Frisona Galega (Fefriga) and the Fundación Semana Verde de Galicia. On that day, the thirty-fifth edition of the Fefriga Regional Competition for the Friesian Breed will be held, as well as the thirty-eighth edition of the International Open for the Friesian Breed GandAgro.
In these events, the registered animals will compete for the titles of Champion of Galicia and International Champion in the sections of calf, heifer, young cow, intermediate cow, and adult cow, in addition to the distinctions of Grand Champion in the heifer and cow categories.
In a complementary way, awards will be presented to the Best Regional and International Breeder (in the absolute category and of heifers) and to the Best Livestock Enterprise of New Participation. The previous day, Friday 26 February, will focus on generational renewal with the celebration of the XLVI International Competition of Young Handlers "Memorial Luis Louzao".
On the same date, the XXIV International Competition of Young Livestock Preparers GandAgro'27 will also take place, focused on the ability to prepare and present the animals. Both events will be run by the Clube de Xóvenes Gandeiros de Galicia, with the cooperation of Fefriga and the Fundación Semana Verde.
