Úbeda (Jaén) will be the setting on September 18 for the VI Extra Virgin Olive Oil Healthy Heritage Day, an event that will offer a cross-cutting program with recognized specialists in health, gastronomy, marketing, and well-being to delve into the current role and prospects of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) as a driver of development, innovation, and well-being.

Driven by the Olive and Oil Interpretation Center together with the City Council of Úbeda, the day, which has already opened the registration period, consolidates itself as a meeting point for producers, cooperatives, oil mills, companies, researchers, entities, and professionals linked to the olive oil sector.

The program will kick off with an institutional opening and, subsequently, the block dedicated to Health will be developed. In this section, the professor of Microbiology at the University of Jaén, Dr. Magdalena Martínez, will explain the influence of EVOO on the intestinal microbiota and its physiological effects.

Later, Dr. José Juan Gaforio, professor at the University of Jaén and coordinator of the Immunology Area, will give a lecture aimed at debunking nutritional myths and examining why EVOO continues to be considered one of the most favorable fats for metabolic health.

The gastronomic part will play a central role through a healthy breakfast made with the oils from the sponsoring entities and a 'showcooking' led by chef Juan Pablo Gámez from the Restaurant Los Sentidos.

In the final part of the morning, the focus will shift to the marketing field with the presentation by Dr. Francisco José Torres, professor of Marketing at the University of Jaén and researcher at the University Institute of Research in Olive and Olive Oil, who will address the keys to consumer behavior and future strategies for the sector. After his intervention, a networking cocktail will be held to encourage contact among attendees, speakers, and collaborating entities.

Among the proposals of this edition stands out the immersive experience "EVOO with the five senses," which will allow participants to delve into the universe of extra virgin olive oil through tastings, aromas, textures, and sensory dynamics.

The keynote lecture in the afternoon will be given by Alba Cardalda, psychologist, communicator, and author specialized in applied psychology, internal dialogue, and communication.

Cardalda will offer a perspective on the importance of communication, emotions, and internal dialogue in decision-making, providing practical tools to improve emotional well-being and its connection with habits that favor quality of life.

The closing of the day will take place in a relaxed atmosphere, with live music and a culinary proposal based on AOVE, local products, and references from the brand Degusta Jaén, with the aim of fostering the exchange of experiences.

Alongside its educational vocation, this sixth edition maintains its solidarity component, given that the proceeds obtained from ticket sales —available through the website of the Interpretation Center of Olive and Oil— will be donated to the NGO Asociación Síndrome 22q11.
