The renewed Managing Director of the Public Business Agency of Radio and Television of Andalusia (RTVA), Juan de Dios Mellado, together with the members of the board of directors of the Andalusian public radio and television and the members of the Audiovisual Council of Andalusia recently appointed, have assumed their responsibilities this Wednesday, 4 November, in two successive ceremonies held in Parliament. The President of the regional government, Juanma Moreno, the President of the Andalusian Chamber, Ana Mestre, and the First Vice President and Minister for the Presidency, Health and Emergencies of the Andalusian Government, Antonio Sanz, attended both events.

The swearing-in sessions, held in the Protocol Hall of Parliament, took place two weeks after the Plenary of the Chamber, on 21 October, confirmed the re-election of Juan de Dios Mellado as Managing Director of the RTVA at the proposal of the Popular and Vox groups, and also approved the renewal of the nine members of its board of directors and the members of the Audiovisual Council of Andalusia (CAA).

As for the RTVA board of directors, the Plenary of Parliament, at the proposal of the Popular Group, backed the current president of the body, Rafael Porras, as well as Mariví Romero Pérez—who continues in office—Francisco Rodríguez Roa and Lourdes Fuster.

On the part of the Socialist Group, the Plenary ratified journalist Eva Suárez as an RTVA councillor and appointed former PSOE-A MP Alicia Murillo, while, at Vox’s proposal, José Antonio Gómez Granados was added. In addition, Pilar González and Sergio Cedena were also included, whose names were promoted by Adelante Andalucía and Por Andalucía groups, respectively.

In the case of the Audiovisual Council of Andalusia, they took office this Wednesday, following their designation by Parliament: journalist José Francisco Domínguez del Postigo, Domi del Postigo, the current president of the body, together with Mateo Rísquez, Pilar Jimeno and Andrés Muriel, all of them promoted by the Popular Group.

Also, journalists Manuel Vargas and Patricia Godino, proposed by the Socialist Group, have assumed their duties as councillors of the CAA; Luis Guijarro Santos, chosen at Vox’s proposal; Macarena Hernández, proposed by Adelante Andalucía; and María Cruz Tornay, whose candidacy was presented by the Por Andalucía group.

After the votes in the Plenary of the Parliament, the Government Council of the Board gave “green light” to these appointments at the meeting held last Friday, October 30.
