The spokesperson of the PP in the Parliament, Lorena Roldán, has demanded that the Minister of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau, appear and provide explanations about the Pisa error, recalling that in March, when the incident was detected, he assumed the responsibilities of the Department by replacing the Minister of Education, Esther Niubó, due to medical leave.
In a press conference this Tuesday, Roldán criticized that Dalmau was not present on Monday in the Catalan Chamber during Niubó's appearance, reproaching him for leaving his fellow Government member "alone."
"It is absolute cowardice. He must also provide urgent explanations. He was responsible for the department in March and cannot remain silent," emphasized the popular leader, who also considered the clarifications offered by Niubó insufficient and "disappointing."
After reiterating her demand for the minister's resignation, she insisted that the controversy with Pisa is not an isolated episode within the Department: "It's one after another. What is happening in Catalunya with education is not just simple mistakes, it is incompetence and, apparently, also bad faith." In her opinion, the educational management accumulates failures that reveal a structural problem.
Roldán also accused PSC, ERC, and Comuns of having joined forces in the Board of Spokespersons to veto the president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, from coming to the Parliament this week to account for this matter.
"There is a covert tripartite willing to cover up the PSC's embarrassments," the PP spokesperson concluded, rejecting that Illa can boast of transparency or a willingness to provide explanations to the parliamentary groups.
