The PSPV again demands that the Consell give its approval "as soon as possible" to the new model of regional financing proposed by the central Government. According to the socialists, this system would allow the Generalitat to receive 3.669 billion euros more in 2027 and see 11.200 billion euros of regional debt forgiven. The demand comes after noting that the burden of committed expenses for future years by the Valencian Executive "has skyrocketed," exceeding 75.000 billion euros, as reflected in the General Account of 2025 published on the website of the Ministry of Finance.

In a public statement, the spokesperson for Finance of the PSPV in Les Corts, José Díaz, considers it "incomprehensible" that the 'president' of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, "prioritizes the interests of the PP over those of the Valencians by refusing to let the Government of Pedro Sánchez reduce our debt by 11.200 billion and to place us at the average of financing per inhabitant of the autonomous communities after 25 years."

The parliamentarian emphasizes that the initiative for the new model, "currently promoted by the Valencian Minister of Finance, Arcadi España, will put an end to two and a half decades of underfunding, has the support of the group of experts in regional financing appointed by Les Corts, and constitutes a milestone for the Comunitat Valenciana."

For this reason, he reproaches that "it is shameful and unacceptable that Pérez Llorca and the PP bow to the dictates of Ayuso and Feijóo and pretend that the Valencians continue at the back of the financing line," referring to the positions of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

Díaz describes a situation of "bankruptcy" in "a PP Consell that has emptied the treasury with million-dollar gifts to the wealthiest, has turned healthcare into a business with privatizations, and is unable to manage either emergencies or the finances of the Generalitat."

He details that the General Account estimates the commitments of expenditure for future years, as of December 31, 2025, at 75.795 billion euros, "which represents an increase of 22% compared to the last full year of management of the Botànic Consell, 2022, that is, 13.571 billion euros more committed."

"Of the more than 75,000 million mortgaged, the staggering 69,031 million are the principal and interest of the debt that the Consell carries, a burden that has skyrocketed with the Consell of Mazón and Pérez Llorca by 25% (13,888 million), compared to 2022, when it amounted to 55,143 million --points out--. It has also increased considerably compared to 2024, no less than 7.5%, while the liability (principal of the debt and interest) has risen by 3,669.5 million, 5.6%".

For the PSPV, these data show that "the mortgage has continued to grow despite the fact that this Consell has taken advantage of the good performance of the economy thanks to the policies of the Government of Spain, so that in 2025 the transfers under the financing model amounted to revenues of 15,921 million euros, 47.5% more than in 2022, when they reached 10,797 million euros". "The question is what they do with the money, beyond the acknowledgment that they are terrible managers," concludes the socialist parliamentarian.
