The National Police have arrested in Madrid a teacher from an educational center, who is charged with several crimes of sexual assault against minors, as well as prostitution and child pornography, as well as "child grooming," a criminal figure that consists of gaining the trust of minors to emotionally manipulate them in order to obtain sexual material.
This is a teacher of about 37 years old who is no longer part of the school's staff. The Family and Women’s Attention Unit (UFAM) of the Superior Police Headquarters of Madrid began the investigations after becoming aware of the facts following comments from students relayed to their current teachers.
So far, investigators have identified at least nine possible victims, aged between 12 and 15 years, from whom formal statements have already been taken. The case remains open and other individuals who may have been affected have been located, so it is not ruled out that the number of accusations against the suspect may increase.
As part of the investigation, the National Police carried out a search at the teacher's home, where they seized "a multitude of devices" including mobile phones, laptops, and various data storage and file supports, which have been made available to the judicial authority for analysis.
As a result of the proceedings carried out, on October 13, the teacher was arrested and entered provisional prison. He is attributed with three continued crimes of complete sexual assault against a minor under 16 years old and three other crimes of sexual assault against a minor under 16 years old with different victims, in addition to prostitution and child pornography and "child grooming."
