An unaccompanied foreign minor of Moroccan origin, under the guardianship of the Government of Aragón, has been sent provisionally to the Judicial Measure Education and Internment Center of Juslibol as the alleged perpetrator of a sexual assault committed against another minor under guardianship, Spanish, in a supervised apartment in the province of Teruel.
The Juvenile Section of the Teruel Court of Instance has made this decision following the hearing held this Thursday within the framework of the reform file opened due to these events.
The Aragonese Institute of Social Services (IASS) has confirmed that both the victim and the alleged aggressor are minors under their guardianship, according to information from the Department of Deregulation, Social Welfare, and Family.
The sexual assault occurred on the night of Sunday, August 2, to Monday, the 3rd, taking place in two distinct moments: first, when both minors met in the elevator, and subsequently, minutes later, when the alleged aggressor entered without authorization into the minor's room and continued the sexual assault.
As a consequence of what happened, the minor under guardianship presented injuries in several areas of the body and had to be treated in the Emergency Service of the Obispo Polanco Hospital in Teruel.
Since the Department of Deregulation, Social Welfare, and Family became aware of the events, a complaint was immediately filed against the minor with the competent authorities.
In parallel, the Provincial Directorate of the IASS in Teruel had already decided to separate both minors to prevent them from continuing to live together in the same supervised apartment.
The alleged aggressor entered Spain irregularly in July 2024, entering through Almería, and days later voluntarily presented himself at a police station in Zaragoza.
At that moment, he was incorporated into the minor protection system of the Government of Aragón and transferred to the province of Teruel, where the assault for which he is allegedly attributed authorship would have occurred.
