The National Court has decided not to postpone the appearance of the lawyer of the former ministerial advisor Koldo García, Leticia de la Hoz, and keeps her summons for this Tuesday to testify as investigated in the so-called "Leire Díez case".

This is stated in a ruling by the Criminal Chamber of the National Court, which Europa Press has had access to, in which the lawyer's summons before Judge Santiago Pedraz is ratified. Pedraz is in charge of investigating an alleged scheme to thwart judicial proceedings affecting the Government and the PSOE, which would have been led by former socialist leader Santos Cerdán and coordinated by Díez herself.

The court dismisses one by one the reasons put forward in De la Hoz's appeal against her summons and emphasizes that "the facts that have been investigated so far could apparently constitute a criminal offense".

In the resolution, the magistrates add that the decision to summon the now appellant as investigated cannot be "branded as arbitrary", in light of the testimony of businesswoman Carmen Pano, who, as a witness, stated that the lawyer offered her a sum of money in exchange for her denying her account of having handed over 90,000 euros in cash at the PSOE headquarters.

De la Hoz had challenged her summons, alleging "lack of specificity" regarding the facts attributed to her and maintaining that no "rational indication of criminality" had been proven.
