The footballer Ferran Torres has signed this Friday at the Palau de la Generalitat the agreement by which he becomes the new ambassador and international image of the Comunitat Valenciana. The player assumes this designation as a "pride and a responsibility" and hopes that it will serve to "launch projects related to sports, with young people and with positive values."
"Valencia is my land and much more. It is a feeling and a unique way of being. Here I have my life and my family. Valencia represents values and a commitment, an identity that I will never renounce. That is why I carry my 'senyera' wherever I go," the footballer stated during his speech at the institutional event held for the signing of the action protocol aimed at promoting the brand of the Comunitat Valenciana.
The 'president' of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, has received the considered 'hero' of the World Cup and has signed this protocol alongside him, in a ceremony that brought together numerous fans at the gates of the Palau de la Generalitat. There, supporters gathered who wanted to see the player from Foios (Valencia), author of the goal that gave victory in the final of the Championship.
Pérez Llorca has announced that the Consell will propose granting the High Distinction of the Generalitat Valenciana on the next 9th of October, Dia de la Comunitat Valenciana, to both Ferran Torres and the also Valencian footballer Álex Grimaldo, originally from Pobla de Vallbona.
In the same way, the president has specified that Ferran Torres has demanded as a condition not to receive any economic compensation for representing the international image of the Comunitat Valenciana.
