The spokesperson for the CUP, Su Moreno, has positively assessed the resolution of the Supreme Court (TS) that ratifies the lifting of the arrest warrant against the former president of the Generalitat and leader of Junts, Carles Puigdemont, as well as against other leaders of the 'procés'. Following this ruling, she has urged the independence movement to abandon the "labyrinth of amnesty".

In a press conference this Monday at the party's headquarters, Moreno emphasized that this is good news and highlighted that defending civil and political rights is "not a crime", expressing her hope that they can return to Catalonia soon.

She also warned that "amnesty is not being applied to everyone" and demanded that it be made effective for all the people who are waiting for it.

On the other hand, she maintained that the independence movement must "stop putting anti-repressive struggle at the center" and prioritize political confrontation for independence again.

In this line, she pointed out that there are "fewer excuses" for the independence movement now that amnesty is fully deployed, and defended that it is time to prepare a new assault against the State.
