The general secretary of Junts, Jordi Turull, has described the application of the amnesty and the end of the arrest warrant against the former president of the Generalitat and leader of Junts, Carles Puigdemont, as well as against the former councilors Toni Comín and Lluís Puig, as a "resounding victory without palliatives" of independence.

In a message disseminated this Monday on the social network 'X' and collected by Europa Press, Turull emphasized that this outcome represents a triumph of the independence movement thanks to the efforts of many people. However, he highlighted that, very especially, it is due to the "exile and firm leadership of Carles Puigdemont and the good legal work of Gonzalo Boye."

"Let no one present this outcome as a generous concession from the State. It is not. It is the result of a political, legal, and democratic battle sustained over many years," the leader of Junts has reiterated, thus claiming the journey of the independence cause up to the approval of the amnesty.
